Riverley Primary has a proud tradition of offering exceptional opportunities for children to develop as creative, imaginative and curious learners. We believe self-expression is an essential element in developing self-confidence and social skills.
High-quality Arts Education has always been a feature of our creative curriculum and we currently have specialist teachers of music, art, drama and dance. All children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, free of charge, and our many and varied clubs and opportunities form part of our wide horizons offer.
Arts Education also gives cultural reference points for developing literacy and linguistic skills. Even for children who live in London, cultural visits can be expensive to organise, but at Riverley we guarantee visitors into school and visits out of school to museums, galleries, theatres and concert halls. Developing a love of the Arts gives children individual and shared memorable experiences and this feeds into all aspects of our curriculum. Strong partnerships have been established with The Big Draw, The Big Sing, The Schools Shakespeare Festival and International Dance Day. The annual Griffin Arts Festival is a celebration opportunity to unite our community. We are proud that Riverley Primary has been awarded Arts Mark Gold in recognition of this strong practice.
