Changes to the school run
Road safety is of paramount importance to Riverley Primary School which is why we are working with Waltham Forest Council to trial a School Street scheme near our school.
School Streets have become popular in other London boroughs and restrict the vehicles entering roads close to the school at the beginning and end of the school day. This restriction aims to reduce anti-social driving and parking and encourage more people to walk, cycle or scoot the school run.
Vehicles will be banned from entering Marsh Lane from 8.15am-9.15am and 3pm-4pm Monday to Friday during term time only, starting on Monday 23 September. Businesses located on the road, emergency services and blue badge holders will be exempt from the restrictions, as well as vehicles already in the zone at the time that the restriction starts.
We hope you will support this scheme which is being introduced to protect our children. The trial will last throughout the winter term, after which its success will be assessed by the council and the school community.
